Cemetery Policy
               Anglican Parish of New Bandon
       Christ Church Cemetery      St. Alban’s Cemetery
The following rate has been approved by the Rector, Wardens and Vestry of the
Anglican Parish of New Bandon in consultation with the cemetery committee,
effective July 01, 2010.
Charge for burial rights i.e plot (regular casket or cremation urn.............$250.00
Please note that burial plots are not real estate and may not be sold to a third party,
although they may be passed on in a will.
If a plot is not needed, it may be sold back to the Parish Corporation at 85%of the
original purchase price.
All work at the cemeteries is to be done under the direction of the cemetery
committees by employees or members of the parish, or others approved by the
committee.  This includes grading, landscape work, improvements of any kind and
cutting or removal of any trees, shrubs or plants.
The straightening of headstone is the responsibility of the headstone owners.
(Normally you would have a maintenance contract with the company you purchase
your headstone from)
In order to facilitate maintenance of the cemeteries, from June 01, 2005 planting of
any kind of tree, shrub or plant  or artificial flowers, fences, solar lights, or any other
article placed in the ground is not permitted.
Cut flowers, potted flowers in removable containers or headstone toppers are
welcome.  Any flowers (real or artificial) left in the cemetery after October 15th each
year will be removed, with the exception of flowers placed on recent burial sites.
If any existing tree, shrub or plant becomes detrimental to adjacent lots, or, for any
other reason, its removal is deemed necessary, the cemetery committee has the right
to remove it, or any part of it, to correct the situation.
No closure of any kind such as a fence, roping, hedge or ditch is permitted around
any grave or plot.
The footing underneath a monument should be no wider than 4 feet.
